Tackling Women’s Health Inequalities
AskAwayHealth exists to speak directly to women whose experiences are too often overlooked – especially Black women and women from African and Asian backgrounds.
Alongside our digital education, Dr Sylvia has contributed expert evidence to a UK fibroids enquiry presented in Parliament, highlighting the disproportionate impact of fibroids on Black women and the gaps in care that leave many feeling dismissed or unsafe.

What We Cover

What Women Say After Watching

Real stories from women who found clarity, confidence and community through AskAwayHealth.
- “I love the straightforward way she’s presenting information. Very useful, because sadly, there are still too many women and girls with little or no access to this sort of information.”
- “I am happy someone is speaking about the sensitive issues addressing the vagina which often seems to be taboo even in this day and time.”
- “I had 3 large fibroids plus ovarian cysts to both ovaries. I never wanted to go through the surgical route or artificial hormonal treatment. Thank you for the information – it helped me understand my options instead of just feeling scared.”
- “As a Black woman with fibroids, this is the first time I’ve felt truly seen and informed.”
