Stroke prevention has the ability to save lives.
Now, when a stroke happens there is damage to parts of the brain that could be permanent or reversible.
Strokes can happen suddenly without warning.
However, without immediate treatment, a stroke kills – or causes severe disability.
Why Stroke Prevention?
Firstly, responses in resource-rich countries tend to be rapid in order to reverse the causes the stroke.
But – regretfully, in poorer countries, this does not happen.
So, until the gap in resource availability and need is closed, stroke prevention is key.
